Pleasants Industries, Inc., a Virginia S Corporation, is pleased to announce that we are finally in the process of acquiring a significant amount of land in the Crozet area. The corporate board has approved development, construction and operation of a 6400 square foot academy. The first location for our Academy will operate under the name, Renewable Energy Academy of Virginia, LLC., which is one of three divisions of Pleasants Industries, Inc. The estimated timeframe for full operation is set for the summer of 2019. Another existing division of Pleasants Industries, Inc. may also open a new lite manufacturing plant in the Crozet area toward the end of 2019. This division manufactures molds for utility wind turbine blades globally.
The third division of the company is focused on Innovation Research and Development. This division will operate under the name, Mid Atlantic Innovation Center, LLC. This division is already working on global solutions around IoT (Internet of Things) to support the global logistics market and Blockchain to support a number of industries including financial services, manufacturing, and healthcare. It is likely that this division will operate as our first Global Research and Development Center. It will initially operate out of a dedicated section of the academy. We intend to execute local and regional alliances with local public schools and many Mid Atlantic region universities, such as James Madison University and the University of Virginia.
Job descriptions will be posted on Linkedin.com around January 2019. These jobs will initially be focused around positions to support the Renewable Energy Academy of Virginia, LLC and the Mid Atlantic Innovation Center, LLC. The type of jobs will be class instructors, administration, sales and solution engineering. The academy will offer web based online training thru two of our global training partners. We will also have local classes of 10 - 12 students per class. Local classes will be open to all US citizens. Courses are currently in development and will be advertised with a full 2019 schedule in January 2019.. Our web presence for the Renewable Energy Academy of Virginia, LLC will be live in the month of October 2018.
Pleasants Industries, Inc. is also in the process of considering partnering with other business interests in the Crozet area to give these new businesses a place to operate in a business incubator without rent for at least 6-12 months. We are also considering donating a specific portion of the land for other businesses to co-locate on the land we will be operating on. Any new businesses in planning or operation that wants to co-locate with us should contact us this fall before December 1st to secure an agreement. Finally, we will discuss donating a portion of the land to the county for the sole purpose of green space for community gatherings, such as music festivals and other public events.
